Another thing I was up to last week (yes, the list goes on and we are not done yet!)... making bachelorette invites for my good friend Erin. I feel quite crafty! I found making them during a stressful time quite calming.
Wow, you have been busy! Erin's getting married?! Pass on my congrats to her! The invitations are lovely:) So is Matt's work. I didn't know he built furniture, it's gorgeous! I was just thinking how lucky you are that both of you understand each other's messes in the name of art. Sulk...my Mike is understanding but at the same time a bit neurotic about mess. So sometimes I feel guilty about getting fibers everywhere, etc.
Originally a ceramist, I had been longing to find an art form that I enjoyed and could practice in my one bedroom apartment that I shared with my wonderful boyfriend and adorable puppy.
After taking a course in glass fusing and a class in precious metal clay, I decided to dive head first and purchase my very first kiln.
I think my love for this kind of jewelry making goes back to my love of ceramics. I love building something with my hands, then giving it up to the kiln gods and seeing the transformation of a piece when you open the warm door of the kiln.
